Getting around
Driving is a very good means of transportation in this area. Most real estate listings are a short car ride from the closest highway, such as Highway 401, and it is easy to park. However, Bay Ridges is not an especially pleasant part of Pickering for travelling by public transit. Thankfully, it is convenient to come across a nearby train station, including the Pickering on the Lakeshore East, from most properties in the neighbourhood. The neighbourhood is connected by about 10 bus lines, and bus stops are not very far from most residences. There aren't many pedestrians out on the streets of Bay Ridges, even though many common errands can be run without a car. Bay Ridges is also not especially amenable to bicycling because the cycling infrastructure is rather limited, and there are a fair number of slopes.
