A NEIGHBOURHOOD IN CONTEXT

Start with how
you spend your day.

Sunnyside has a character that appeals to a very diverse group of people. Even though the atmosphere is not the most lively in this part of Calgary, its busier streets can still be quite energetic, and finding one of the about 40 nightlife venues is very easy as they are generally situated in very convenient locations. Most areas in Sunnyside are very quiet, as there isn't a lot of street noise or city clamour. Accessing public green spaces, such as Riley Park and Crescent Heights Park, is very easy from a lot of locations in the neighbourhood since there are about 40 of them close by for residents to enjoy.

Getting around

This area will draw house buyers that appreciate several means of transportation. The public transit network in Sunnyside is good by reason of many nearby rapid transit stations on the Blue Line - Saddletowne/69 Street CTrain and Red Line - Somerset - Bridlewood/Tuscany CTrain, and around 40 nearby bus lines. Getting around as a pedestrian is also reasonably feasible for house buyers in Sunnyside; carrying out daily needs is very easy without the need for a car, and a variety of businesses are close at hand. Physically active house buyers will enjoy the very bike-friendly nature of this area. More precisely, the cycling infrastructure is very good, and there are few elevation changes in much of the terrain to challenge cyclists.

Everyday essentials

It is straightforward to reach both a general and a specialty grocery store without a vehicle from most properties for sale in Sunnyside. Likewise, those who like to dine out won't have to travel far in Sunnyside, where over 250 restaurants and over 50 coffee shops are available. It is also a short trip to a very good selection of clothing stores. With respect to education, in this neighbourhood, families will almost always be able to get to primary schools and daycares without a vehicle. In contrast, it can be challenging to walk to high schools from homes for sale in this part of Calgary.

This part of the city is primarily composed of two bedroom and one bedroom homes. About two thirds of the population of this neighbourhood rent their home whereas the remainder are owners. About one third of properties in this area were constructed between 1960 and 1980, while the majority of the remaining buildings were built pre-1960 and in the 1980s.

A FEW USEFUL ANSWERS

Before you
call it home.

What do the location scores measure?

Local Logic supplies individual access and character scores on a 0–5 scale for the recorded coordinates. Consider each measure separately; we do not calculate an overall livability rating.

Are the distances walking times?

No. Distances are straight-line measurements from the project reference. Open directions to check a walking, cycling, transit or driving route.

Does a nearby school guarantee admission?

No. Confirm attendance boundaries, programs, capacity and registration requirements with the relevant school board.

Do the demographic figures describe future residents?

No. They describe the existing population in the provider’s surrounding study area. They do not predict the buyers or future residents of this project.

SOURCES & METHODOLOGY

Compare neighbourhood context across Calgary ↗ · Explore Calgary new-home projects ↗

Prepared by Team Arora. Scores, neighbourhood descriptions, school records, places and demographic information are supplied by Local Logic. Requests are cached for up to 24 hours; underlying source periods may be older. Provider neighbourhood labels may differ from builder descriptions. Missing data remains unavailable.

Recorded coordinates: 51.0543, -114.0806751. Amenity queries use a 2.5 km radius; school results retain the provider’s school-search coverage. Distances use the returned straight-line measurement, or are calculated directly between coordinates when absent. The project page includes the existing map; Google provides the linked directions. Verify current place details, boundaries and routes before making a decision.
