A NEIGHBOURHOOD IN CONTEXT

Start with how
you spend your day.

Centre-Sud has a character that appeals to a fairly diverse group of people. Finding things to do in this area is very easy. There is a wide selection of entertainment venues, there are crowds of people around most of the time, and places to go out at night are well-distributed throughout the neighbourhood. Centre-Sud is fairly good for those who need a quiet atmosphere, as there isn't a lot of street noise or city clamour, however some areas can be quite noisy, especially around one of the railway lines or Autoroute Ville-Marie. Greenery is present in this area as most streets have fairly good tree coverage. It is very easy to get to green spaces in the neighbourhood since there are over 100 of them nearby for residents to check out.

Getting around

This part of the city enables property owners to move around using a variety of means of transportation. The public transit access in this area is very accessible as a result of various nearby rapid transit stations with access to the Ligne 4 - Jaune, Ligne 1 - Verte and Ligne 2 - Orange, and about 50 nearby bus lines. Walking is also particularly feasible for residents in Centre-Sud; meeting daily needs is very easy without a car, and many businesses are fairly close at hand. Active property owners will welcome the very cycling-friendly character of Centre-Sud. More precisely, a bike share station can always be found in close proximity, riding is facilitated by the generally flat terrain, and Centre-Sud boasts reasonably good bicycling infrastructure.

Everyday essentials

It is very convenient to access both a general and a specialty grocery store as a pedestrian from most houses for sale in Centre-Sud. Rue Sainte-Catherine is among the best streets for groceries. Likewise, there are over 300 restaurants and about 30 cafes to experience in this neighbourhood. It is also very easy to reach a selection of clothing stores by foot. In terms of education, it is a short stroll to reach schools and daycares from any location in Centre-Sud.

Surrounding homes

The buildings in this part of the city are quite old, because roughly 40% of its buildings were constructed pre-1960, while most of the remaining buildings were constructed in the 1960s and the 2000s. The predominance of small apartment buildings in the housing stock of this area is an important part of its character. Around three quarters of the dwellings in the neighbourhood are occupied by renters while the remainder are occupied by owners. This area offers mainly two bedroom and one bedroom homes.

A FEW USEFUL ANSWERS

Before you
call it home.

What do the location scores measure?

Local Logic supplies individual access and character scores on a 0–5 scale for the recorded coordinates. Consider each measure separately; we do not calculate an overall livability rating.

Are the distances walking times?

No. Distances are straight-line measurements from the project reference. Open directions to check a walking, cycling, transit or driving route.

Does a nearby school guarantee admission?

No. Confirm attendance boundaries, programs, capacity and registration requirements with the relevant school board.

Do the demographic figures describe future residents?

No. They describe the existing population in the provider’s surrounding study area. They do not predict the buyers or future residents of this project.

SOURCES & METHODOLOGY

Prepared by Team Arora. Scores, neighbourhood descriptions, school records, places and demographic information are supplied by Local Logic. Requests are cached for up to 24 hours; underlying source periods may be older. Provider neighbourhood labels may differ from builder descriptions. Missing data remains unavailable.

Recorded coordinates: 45.5175902, -73.5513645. Amenity queries use a 2.5 km radius; school results retain the provider’s school-search coverage. Distances use the returned straight-line measurement, or are calculated directly between coordinates when absent. The project page includes the existing map; Google provides the linked directions. Verify current place details, boundaries and routes before making a decision.
