The car is usually the best transportation option in this neighbourhood. Parking is easy. On the other hand, the public transit network in this part of the municipality is not very practical. Nevertheless, house owners benefit from a few bus lines, and bus stops are not very far away from most properties. Herring Cove is not very amenable to bicycling since cyclists encounter a significant amount of hills, and there are few bike lanes. This part of the municipality is also not very suitable for those who like to travel as pedestrians because almost no common errands can be run without the need to use a car.

Families will find that wherever their house is situated in Herring Cove, both primary and secondary schools are close by. In contrast, parents and their kids may consider it very difficult to access daycares as pedestrians.
