A NEIGHBOURHOOD IN CONTEXT

Start with how
you spend your day.

No matter what type of character home buyers prefer in a neighbourhood, Dovercourt Village is a reasonably good option. Finding dynamic areas is very easy in this part of Toronto. Even though there is a limited selection of entertainment venues, there are a very large number of people around most of the time, and finding one of the a few bars is very easy because they are generally situated in very convenient locations. Dovercourt Village is reasonably quiet, as noise from the streets and other parts of the city is rarely an issue. The greenery in this part of Toronto is prominent; green spaces, including Christie Pits Park, are especially well-situated and there are around 10 of them close by for residents to relax in, which makes them very easy to reach. Furthermore, residents will find that there are numerous tree-lined streets.

Getting around

Dovercourt Village is a great area with regards to travelling without driving. This area is an extraordinarily convenient part of Toronto for pedestrians; all common errands can be run on foot, and many businesses are very close by. Countless people in the area use their bicycle since there is generally a bike-share station close by, and there are a fair number of bike lanes. The great public transit infrastructure makes transit a viable option for many people due to plenty of nearby rapid transit stations with access to the Line 2 (Bloor - Danforth), and around 10 nearby bus lines. However, cars are a somewhat poor means of transportation in Dovercourt Village since it is challenging to access a parking spot, and the majority of homes for sale are a very long car ride from the nearest highway.

Everyday essentials

It is a short walk to access schools and daycares from anywhere in Dovercourt Village. When it comes to food, it is very easy to get to both a general and a specialty grocery store by walking from any location in this part of the city. Likewise, those who enjoy eating out won't have to walk far in Dovercourt Village, where approximately 30 restaurants and a few cafes are available, for example along Bloor Street.

In Dovercourt Village, around half of buildings are small apartment buildings, while duplexes, single detached homes, and townhouses make up most of the remaining housing stock. This part of Toronto has a good selection of housing sizes, ranging from lofts to four or more bedrooms. The proportions of renters and homeowners are about even. Most homes in this part of Toronto were built pre-1960, during its largest construction boom.

A FEW USEFUL ANSWERS

Before you
call it home.

What do the location scores measure?

Local Logic supplies individual access and character scores on a 0–5 scale for the recorded coordinates. Consider each measure separately; we do not calculate an overall livability rating.

Are the distances walking times?

No. Distances are straight-line measurements from the project reference. Open directions to check a walking, cycling, transit or driving route.

Does a nearby school guarantee admission?

No. Confirm attendance boundaries, programs, capacity and registration requirements with the relevant school board.

Do the demographic figures describe future residents?

No. They describe the existing population in the provider’s surrounding study area. They do not predict the buyers or future residents of this project.

SOURCES & METHODOLOGY

Compare neighbourhood context across Toronto ↗ · Explore Toronto new-home projects ↗

Prepared by Team Arora. Scores, neighbourhood descriptions, school records, places and demographic information are supplied by Local Logic. Requests are cached for up to 24 hours; underlying source periods may be older. Provider neighbourhood labels may differ from builder descriptions. Missing data remains unavailable.

Recorded coordinates: 43.661167, -79.4299031. Amenity queries use a 2.5 km radius; school results retain the provider’s school-search coverage. Distances use the returned straight-line measurement, or are calculated directly between coordinates when absent. The project page includes the existing map; Google provides the linked directions. Verify current place details, boundaries and routes before making a decision.
