A NEIGHBOURHOOD IN CONTEXT

Start with how
you spend your day.

Dufferin Grove has a character that appeals to a fairly diverse group of people. There are a large number of things to do in this neighbourhood for those looking for a dynamic vibe. Despite the fact that there is a limited selection of entertainment venues, there are crowds of people around most of the time, and with its approximately 30 bars, there are options for nighttime activities. College Street is among the most lively streets in this neighbourhood. Most areas in Dufferin Grove are reasonably quiet, as there are usually low levels of noise from traffic. There is not that much greenery in this part of the city; more specifically, residents will find that the tree canopy coverage for most streets is sub-par. Nonetheless, it is very easy to access public green spaces from the majority of locations in the neighbourhood since there are over 50 of them close by for residents to check out.

Getting around

Dufferin Grove offers homeowners the choice between different modes of transportation. With many nearby rapid transit stations on the Line 2 (Bloor - Danforth), and about 20 nearby bus lines, the great transit network makes transit a viable option for many. Property owners who value being in a walkable community will also welcome the very pedestrian-friendly nature of Dufferin Grove; most daily needs are especially convenient to meet without a vehicle, and a large number of businesses of different types can be found as well. This neighbourhood is a very convenient part of Toronto for cyclists. More specifically, bike-share stations are never more than a few blocks away, and the cycling network is rather comprehensive.

Everyday essentials

House buyers in this neighbourhood will be pleased to learn that a general and a specialty grocery store is always only a very short walk away. Additionally, there are over 150 restaurants and around 30 cafes to enjoy in this area. It is also very easy to reach a variety of clothing stores by foot, for instance on Dundas Street. As far as education is concerned, families will value that no matter where their house is situated in Dufferin Grove, daycares and schools are close by.

A FEW USEFUL ANSWERS

Before you
call it home.

What do the location scores measure?

Local Logic supplies individual access and character scores on a 0–5 scale for the recorded coordinates. Consider each measure separately; we do not calculate an overall livability rating.

Are the distances walking times?

No. Distances are straight-line measurements from the project reference. Open directions to check a walking, cycling, transit or driving route.

Does a nearby school guarantee admission?

No. Confirm attendance boundaries, programs, capacity and registration requirements with the relevant school board.

Do the demographic figures describe future residents?

No. They describe the existing population in the provider’s surrounding study area. They do not predict the buyers or future residents of this project.

SOURCES & METHODOLOGY

Compare neighbourhood context across Toronto ↗ · Explore Toronto new-home projects ↗

Prepared by Team Arora. Scores, neighbourhood descriptions, school records, places and demographic information are supplied by Local Logic. Requests are cached for up to 24 hours; underlying source periods may be older. Provider neighbourhood labels may differ from builder descriptions. Missing data remains unavailable.

Recorded coordinates: 43.6592019, -79.4369978. Amenity queries use a 2.5 km radius; school results retain the provider’s school-search coverage. Distances use the returned straight-line measurement, or are calculated directly between coordinates when absent. The project page includes the existing map; Google provides the linked directions. Verify current place details, boundaries and routes before making a decision.
