Getting around

Huxley is an extraordinarily convenient part of Calgary for travelling by car. The majority of properties for sale are a very short car ride from the nearest highway, and most of the street infrastructure is well suited for driving. However, the transit infrastructure in this part of Calgary is not very accessible. Thankfully, property owners benefit from a few bus lines, and it is easy to find a nearby bus stop from most houses. Huxley is not very well-suited for pedestrians since few common errands can be run without a vehicle. Even though there are a limited number of hills, commuting by bicycle is also difficult in this neighbourhood as the bicycling infrastructure is not very comprehensive.

Everyday essentials

There are no high schools and no primary schools in this part of the city. Moreover, daycares are not plentiful and therefore may require a very long trip to get to. When it comes to eating, it is rarely feasible for home buyers in Huxley to do groceries as pedestrians. A limited number of restaurants and coffee shops are available as well.

Local character

Huxley offers a wide selection of green spaces to enjoy. It is easy to access parks in the neighbourhood and there are approximately 20 of them close by for residents to check out. Lastly, this area remains relatively calm, thanks to the presence of very few people out and about on the streets.

Surrounding homes

Mobile homes are the predominant housing type, representing roughly half of buildings in Huxley, while single detached homes make up most of the remaining housing stock. This part of the city offers mainly two bedroom and three bedroom homes. Roughly 85% of the population of this neighbourhood own their home whereas renters make up the remainder. Around 30% of properties in this part of the city were constructed between 1990 and 2000, while many of the remaining buildings were built in the 1960s and the 1980s.

A FEW USEFUL ANSWERS

Before you
call it home.

What do the location scores measure?

Local Logic supplies individual access and character scores on a 0–5 scale for the recorded coordinates. Consider each measure separately; we do not calculate an overall livability rating.

Are the distances walking times?

No. Distances are straight-line measurements from the project reference. Open directions to check a walking, cycling, transit or driving route.

Does a nearby school guarantee admission?

No. Confirm attendance boundaries, programs, capacity and registration requirements with the relevant school board.

Do the demographic figures describe future residents?

No. They describe the existing population in the provider’s surrounding study area. They do not predict the buyers or future residents of this project.

SOURCES & METHODOLOGY

A guide with a clear point of reference.

Prepared by Team Arora. Scores, neighbourhood descriptions, school records, places and demographic information are supplied by Local Logic. Requests are cached for up to 24 hours; underlying source periods may be older. Provider neighbourhood labels may differ from builder descriptions. Missing data remains unavailable.

Recorded coordinates: 51.0539436, -113.9088803. Amenity queries use a 2.5 km radius; school results retain the provider’s school-search coverage. Distances use the returned straight-line measurement, or are calculated directly between coordinates when absent. The project page includes the existing map; Google provides the linked directions. Verify current place details, boundaries and routes before making a decision.
