Getting around
Getting around by public transit is easy in Langstaff South. More specifically, train stations, including the Langstaff on the Richmond Hill, are not very far from the majority of residences in the neighbourhood. The closest rapid transit station, including Richmond Hill Centre Platform 4, Hwy 7 / Bayview and Yonge / Royal Orchard on the Viva Blue, Viva Purple and Viva Orange, is generally a short walk away from most properties in the neighbourhood. Residents are served by about 20 bus lines, and bus stops are typically very close by. Even though Langstaff South features good cycling infrastructure, and residents often decide to travel by bicycle, the bicycle is a rather poor method of transportation in this part of Markham because the terrain is not especially flat. Traveling as a pedestrian is not very common in this part of Markham, although many daily needs can be met without a vehicle, and various businesses are moderately close at hand. In contrast, cars are a great transportation option in Langstaff South. Most real estate listings are a very short drive from the closest highway, such as Highway 407, and the city block layout is amenable to driving.
