A NEIGHBOURHOOD IN CONTEXT

Start with how
you spend your day.

Centennial is a fairly good neighbourhood to buy a house in for those who prefer a relaxed environment. This part of the city is quiet overall, as the streets are reasonably peaceful - although there are still several noisier sections, especially around the airport (Oshawa Airport). Finally, it is very easy to access public green spaces from numerous locations in the neighbourhood since there are over 50 of them nearby for residents to enjoy.

Getting around

This part of Oshawa is rather cycling-friendly. House buyers who appreciate living in a compact community will also welcome the moderately pedestrian-friendly character of Centennial; most daily needs are easy to carry out without a car. Travelling by transit can be challenging in Centennial due to the service's low frequency. Thankfully, there are about 10 bus lines, and bus stops are not very far away from most properties. On the other hand, driving is a reasonably good means of transportation in Centennial. It is convenient to park.

Everyday essentials

Parents and their children will find that no matter where their house is located in Centennial, daycares and primary schools are nearby. On the other hand, it can be difficult to get to high schools by foot. As far as food is concerned, home buyers in Centennial will welcome that a grocery store is always only a rather short distance away. In addition, there are a fair number of choices for those who care about nearby restaurants and cafes.

Local character

Centennial is a fairly good neighbourhood to buy a house in for those who prefer a relaxed environment. This part of the city is quiet overall, as the streets are reasonably peaceful - although there are still several noisier sections, especially around the airport (Oshawa Airport). Finally, it is very easy to access public green spaces from numerous locations in the neighbourhood since there are over 50 of them nearby for residents to enjoy.

Surrounding homes

In Centennial, roughly one third of dwellings are single detached homes, and the remaining homes are mainly large apartment buildings and small apartment buildings. Most homes in this part of the city were built between 1960 and 1980, during its largest construction boom. This neighbourhood also has a good selection of unit sizes - properties range from lofts to four or more bedrooms. There are equal parts renters and owners living in this area.

A FEW USEFUL ANSWERS

Before you
call it home.

What do the location scores measure?

Local Logic supplies individual access and character scores on a 0–5 scale for the recorded coordinates. Consider each measure separately; we do not calculate an overall livability rating.

Are the distances walking times?

No. Distances are straight-line measurements from the project reference. Open directions to check a walking, cycling, transit or driving route.

Does a nearby school guarantee admission?

No. Confirm attendance boundaries, programs, capacity and registration requirements with the relevant school board.

Do the demographic figures describe future residents?

No. They describe the existing population in the provider’s surrounding study area. They do not predict the buyers or future residents of this project.

SOURCES & METHODOLOGY

A guide with a clear point of reference.

Prepared by Team Arora. Scores, neighbourhood descriptions, school records, places and demographic information are supplied by Local Logic. Requests are cached for up to 24 hours; underlying source periods may be older. Provider neighbourhood labels may differ from builder descriptions. Missing data remains unavailable.

Recorded coordinates: 43.9261322, -78.876977. Amenity queries use a 2.5 km radius; school results retain the provider’s school-search coverage. Distances use the returned straight-line measurement, or are calculated directly between coordinates when absent. The project page includes the existing map; Google provides the linked directions. Verify current place details, boundaries and routes before making a decision.
