Chase River-Duke Point-South End is also a fairly pleasant part of Nanaimo for pedestrians; many common errands can be run without a vehicle. Cars are a very good mode of transportation in this part of the city. Most real estate listings are a rather short drive from the closest highway, and finding a place to park is quite easy. On the other hand, public transit riders may have limited choices in this neighbourhood as a result of the infrequent service. Nonetheless, there are about 10 bus lines, and bus stops are not very far-removed from most residences.
