A NEIGHBOURHOOD IN CONTEXT

Start with how
you spend your day.

Applewood Park is a great neighbourhood to buy a house in for those who prefer a relaxed atmosphere. This part of Calgary is especially quiet, as there isn't a lot of street noise or city clamour. Lastly, green spaces, like Elliston Park and Applewood Recreation Park, are very well-distributed and there are approximately 40 of them nearby for residents to unwind in, which results in them being very easy to access from numerous locations in this area.

Getting around

The preferred approach to navigate this neighbourhood is very often driving. It is easy to park, and it is a reasonably short drive to the nearest highway from any location in this area. However, getting around by transit can be challenging in Applewood Park by reason of the low service level. Nonetheless, the neighbourhood is connected by a few bus lines, and most residences are very close to a bus stop. Cycling is easy in Applewood Park because the cycling network is good, and the topography is flat. Walking is not particularly practical for property owners in this area since few common errands can be run without a vehicle.

Everyday essentials

Daycares are easy to get to as a pedestrian from anywhere in Applewood Park. In contrast, there are no primary schools and no high schools in Applewood Park. With respect to food, it is rarely practical for property owners in this part of the city to purchase their groceries as pedestrians. There are also a few opportunities for those who care about restaurants and cafes within walking distance.

About 60% of the population of this neighbourhood own their home while the rest are renters. The homes in this area are very new, since about 45% of its dwellings were constructed between 1990 and 2000, while most of the remaining buildings were built in the 1980s and the 2000s.

A FEW USEFUL ANSWERS

Before you
call it home.

What do the location scores measure?

Local Logic supplies individual access and character scores on a 0–5 scale for the recorded coordinates. Consider each measure separately; we do not calculate an overall livability rating.

Are the distances walking times?

No. Distances are straight-line measurements from the project reference. Open directions to check a walking, cycling, transit or driving route.

Does a nearby school guarantee admission?

No. Confirm attendance boundaries, programs, capacity and registration requirements with the relevant school board.

Do the demographic figures describe future residents?

No. They describe the existing population in the provider’s surrounding study area. They do not predict the buyers or future residents of this project.

SOURCES & METHODOLOGY

A guide with a clear point of reference.

Prepared by Team Arora. Scores, neighbourhood descriptions, school records, places and demographic information are supplied by Local Logic. Requests are cached for up to 24 hours; underlying source periods may be older. Provider neighbourhood labels may differ from builder descriptions. Missing data remains unavailable.

Recorded coordinates: 51.03791469999999, -113.9253098. Amenity queries use a 2.5 km radius; school results retain the provider’s school-search coverage. Distances use the returned straight-line measurement, or are calculated directly between coordinates when absent. The project page includes the existing map; Google provides the linked directions. Verify current place details, boundaries and routes before making a decision.
