Shannon Lake offers a relaxed ambience and will appeal to those who enjoy spending time outdoors. This part of West Kelowna is very quiet, as there are usually low levels of noise from traffic. Lastly, public green spaces, like Tallus Park and Mount Boucherie Sports Fields, are very well-situated and there are about 40 of them close by for residents to check out, resulting in them being easy to reach from numerous locations in Shannon Lake.

Getting around

Shannon Lake is very car friendly. It is very easy to park, and most homes for sale are a reasonably short drive from the closest highway. In contrast, Shannon Lake is not very transit friendly. Nonetheless, property owners are served by a few bus lines, and bus stops are typically very close by. It is sometimes difficult to travel by bike in this area as the cycling network is fairly poor, and there is a considerable amount of elevation changes. Getting around by foot is also not very practical for property owners in Shannon Lake because very few daily needs can be met without a vehicle.

Everyday essentials

Families will value the proximity to primary schools and daycares, which are within a short distance from the majority of properties for sale in Shannon Lake. On the other hand, parents and their children may consider it very difficult to reach high schools on foot. As far as food is concerned, property owners in Shannon Lake generally have to turn to a car to do their groceries. A small selection of restaurants is available in this neighbourhood as well.

Surrounding homes

In Shannon Lake, the majority of dwellings are single detached homes, and the rest of the houses are mainly small apartment buildings. This area experienced its main construction boom after the year 2000, so most of the available properties are from this time period. This part of West Kelowna is primarily composed of three bedroom and four or more bedroom homes. Roughly 90% of the population of this neighbourhood own their home and 10% are renters.

A FEW USEFUL ANSWERS

Before you
call it home.

What do the location scores measure?

Local Logic supplies individual access and character scores on a 0–5 scale for the recorded coordinates. Consider each measure separately; we do not calculate an overall livability rating.

Are the distances walking times?

No. Distances are straight-line measurements from the project reference. Open directions to check a walking, cycling, transit or driving route.

Does a nearby school guarantee admission?

No. Confirm attendance boundaries, programs, capacity and registration requirements with the relevant school board.

Do the demographic figures describe future residents?

No. They describe the existing population in the provider’s surrounding study area. They do not predict the buyers or future residents of this project.

SOURCES & METHODOLOGY

A guide with a clear point of reference.

Prepared by Team Arora. Scores, neighbourhood descriptions, school records, places and demographic information are supplied by Local Logic. Requests are cached for up to 24 hours; underlying source periods may be older. Provider neighbourhood labels may differ from builder descriptions. Missing data remains unavailable.

Recorded coordinates: 49.8675972, -119.5971808. Amenity queries use a 2.5 km radius; school results retain the provider’s school-search coverage. Distances use the returned straight-line measurement, or are calculated directly between coordinates when absent. The project page includes the existing map; Google provides the linked directions. Verify current place details, boundaries and routes before making a decision.
