A NEIGHBOURHOOD IN CONTEXT

Start with how
you spend your day.

No matter what type of character home buyers prefer in a neighbourhood, Bedford Park is a fairly good option. Although this area is not known for its vibrancy, its main streets can still be quite lively, and finding one of the a few bars is very easy as they are generally located around the corner. Yonge Street in particular offers a vast selection of bars. Bedford Park is very good for those who like quiet areas, as there isn't a lot of street noise or city clamour. Greenery is very prominent in this part of Toronto; there are about 40 public green spaces nearby for residents to unwind in, such as Alexander Muir Memorial Gardens, and they are especially well-spread out, making them very easy to access. In addition, residents will find that the tree canopy coverage for a large number of streets is wonderful.

Getting around

No matter the means of transportation, it is reasonably simple to travel in Bedford Park. Thanks to 3 rapid transit stations (York Mills Station - Southbound Platform, Lawrence Station - Southbound Platform and Lawrence Station - Northbound Platform) with access to the Line 1 (Yonge-University), and around 10 nearby bus lines, commuting by public transit is easy in this part of Toronto. This neighbourhood will also attract home buyers who appreciate residing in a compact area as it is rather suitable for getting around on foot; carrying out daily needs is easy without the use of a car, and many businesses are reasonably close by. Moving around by bicycle is easy in this neighbourhood.

Everyday essentials

It is a very short stroll to access daycares and schools from most homes for sale in Bedford Park. When it comes to food, it is usually possible for property owners in this neighbourhood to buy general and specialty groceries by walking. Likewise, there are over 50 restaurants and a few coffee shops to enjoy in Bedford Park. It is also very easy to get to a selection of clothing stores as a pedestrian, for example along Avenue Road.

Local character

Surrounding homes

Around three quarters of the dwellings in the neighbourhood are occupied by homeowners and one quarter are rented. Single detached homes are the most common housing type, representing most dwellings in this area, and the rest of the properties are mainly small apartment buildings and townhouses. A majority of the housing growth in this part of the city occurred before the 1960s. This neighbourhood offers mainly four or more bedroom and three bedroom homes.

A FEW USEFUL ANSWERS

Before you
call it home.

What do the location scores measure?

Local Logic supplies individual access and character scores on a 0–5 scale for the recorded coordinates. Consider each measure separately; we do not calculate an overall livability rating.

Are the distances walking times?

No. Distances are straight-line measurements from the project reference. Open directions to check a walking, cycling, transit or driving route.

Does a nearby school guarantee admission?

No. Confirm attendance boundaries, programs, capacity and registration requirements with the relevant school board.

Do the demographic figures describe future residents?

No. They describe the existing population in the provider’s surrounding study area. They do not predict the buyers or future residents of this project.

SOURCES & METHODOLOGY

A guide with a clear point of reference.

Prepared by Team Arora. Scores, neighbourhood descriptions, school records, places and demographic information are supplied by Local Logic. Requests are cached for up to 24 hours; underlying source periods may be older. Provider neighbourhood labels may differ from builder descriptions. Missing data remains unavailable.

Recorded coordinates: 43.72814640000001, -79.4032194. Amenity queries use a 2.5 km radius; school results retain the provider’s school-search coverage. Distances use the returned straight-line measurement, or are calculated directly between coordinates when absent. The project page includes the existing map; Google provides the linked directions. Verify current place details, boundaries and routes before making a decision.
