Downtown offers a variety of experiences for home buyers who enjoy a vibrant atmosphere. Although the ambience is not the liveliest in this neighbourhood with its a few nightlife venues, there are options for nighttime activities. Thanks to the presence of few people out and about on the streets, this part of the town is relatively quiet; however noise levels are higher closer to the airport (Ajax (Pickering General Hospital) Heliport). Public green spaces aren't well-distributed, making them very hard to reach. Still, there are approximately 30 green spaces nearby for residents to check out.

Getting around

The bike is a reasonably good mode of transportation in Downtown. It is also convenient for pedestrians to get around in Downtown; meeting daily needs is convenient without the use of a vehicle, and various businesses are rather close at hand. Driving is usually the preferred way to navigate Downtown. It is a short car ride to the nearest highway from any location in this part of the town, and it is convenient to find a place to park. However, Downtown is not particularly transit friendly. Nonetheless, the neighbourhood is served by a few bus lines, and most properties are very close to a bus stop.

Everyday essentials

A supermarket is ordinarily accessible within a very short stroll from anywhere in Downtown. Furthermore, there are a good number of opportunities in close proximity for those who care about restaurants and cafes. It is also a reasonably short distance to a good selection of clothing stores. When it comes to education, daycares and schools are especially easy to access on foot from most homes for sale in this area.

The predominance of large apartment buildings in the housing stock of Downtown is an important part of its character.
