A NEIGHBOURHOOD IN CONTEXT

Start with how
you spend your day.

There is a vast selection of green spaces in Downsview Airport. To be more precise, it is easy to reach parks from most locations within the neighbourhood since there are about 40 of them close by for residents to explore. Despite the abundance of public green spaces, few tree-lined streets are present. Lastly, this area can be rather noisy, as during busier hours of the day, traffic can occasionally be loud.

Getting around

With plenty of nearby rapid transit stations with access to the Line 1 (Yonge-University), and around 30 nearby bus lines, property owners can count on public transit to get around in this neighbourhood. Although there are a limited number of elevation changes, and a few bike-friendly pockets exist, it is almost impossible to commute by bicycle in this part of the city since there are few bike lanes. Walking in this part of the city is not very popular, despite the fact that many common errands can be run without needing to use a vehicle, and there are also a good number of businesses in proximity. On the other hand, the preferred method to navigate Downsview Airport is usually a car. The street layout is particularly conducive to driving, and nearby highways, such as Allen Expressway, are very easy to access from anywhere in this part of the city.

Everyday essentials

It is typically practical for property owners in this part of the city to shop for general and specialty groceries by walking. In addition, there is usually a restaurant or cafe in close proximity. Property owners have access to a large number of clothing stores within a short distance. With respect to education, families will appreciate that wherever their home is situated in this part of Toronto, daycares and schools are close by.

Surrounding homes

In Downsview Airport, roughly one third of buildings are small apartment buildings, while large apartment buildings, duplexes, and single detached homes are also present in the housing stock. Most housing in this part of Toronto was constructed following the year 2000, during its biggest building boom. This area also has a good choice of unit sizes; it is quite easy to find houses ranging from lofts to four or more bedrooms. Around 60% of the population of this neighbourhood own their home while renters make up the remainder.

A FEW USEFUL ANSWERS

Before you
call it home.

What do the location scores measure?

Local Logic supplies individual access and character scores on a 0–5 scale for the recorded coordinates. Consider each measure separately; we do not calculate an overall livability rating.

Are the distances walking times?

No. Distances are straight-line measurements from the project reference. Open directions to check a walking, cycling, transit or driving route.

Does a nearby school guarantee admission?

No. Confirm attendance boundaries, programs, capacity and registration requirements with the relevant school board.

Do the demographic figures describe future residents?

No. They describe the existing population in the provider’s surrounding study area. They do not predict the buyers or future residents of this project.

SOURCES & METHODOLOGY

A guide with a clear point of reference.

Prepared by Team Arora. Scores, neighbourhood descriptions, school records, places and demographic information are supplied by Local Logic. Requests are cached for up to 24 hours; underlying source periods may be older. Provider neighbourhood labels may differ from builder descriptions. Missing data remains unavailable.

Recorded coordinates: 43.7340039, -79.4555713. Amenity queries use a 2.5 km radius; school results retain the provider’s school-search coverage. Distances use the returned straight-line measurement, or are calculated directly between coordinates when absent. The project page includes the existing map; Google provides the linked directions. Verify current place details, boundaries and routes before making a decision.
