A NEIGHBOURHOOD IN CONTEXT

Start with how
you spend your day.

One of the appealing aspects of Blue Grass Creek is that it has both vibrant and quiet areas. Even though this part of the town is not known for its lively ambience, with the nightlife venues in nearby neighbourhoods, it is rather challenging to find a place to grab a drink since they are generally located quite far away. At the same time, this area is very quiet overall, as noise from streets and other parts of the city is rarely an issue.

Getting around

Most houses for sale in this neighbourhood are located in areas that are rather conducive to people who prefer to get around on foot; running common errands is easy without a vehicle. On the other hand, the bike is a somewhat poor means of transportation in Blue Grass Creek as there are a good number of slopes for cyclists to brave, and the cycling network is rather limited. Commuting by car is very convenient in this part of Whitby. The majority of homes for sale are a rather short car ride from the closest highway, and parking is quite easy. However, commuting by public transit is challenging in Blue Grass Creek. Nonetheless, the neighbourhood is connected by about 10 bus lines, and bus stops are generally very close by.

Everyday essentials

The nearest grocery store in Blue Grass Creek is generally only a short trip away. In addition, there are a good number of choices for those who care about nearby restaurants and cafes. In terms of education, primary schools and daycares are straightforward to access by foot from any location in this part of Whitby. However, there are only a few high schools and consequently they can be a rather long walk away.

Local character

One of the appealing aspects of Blue Grass Creek is that it has both vibrant and quiet areas. Even though this part of the town is not known for its lively ambience, with the nightlife venues in nearby neighbourhoods, it is rather challenging to find a place to grab a drink since they are generally located quite far away. At the same time, this area is very quiet overall, as noise from streets and other parts of the city is rarely an issue.

Surrounding homes

Roughly 45% of homes in Blue Grass Creek were constructed in the 1980s, while most of the remaining buildings were constructed in the 1960s. The large percentage of single detached homes in the housing stock of this area is an important part of its character. Roughly 85% of the units in the neighbourhood are occupied by homeowners while the remainder are rented. Notably, this part of Whitby is good for those looking for four or more bedroom homes.

A FEW USEFUL ANSWERS

Before you
call it home.

What do the location scores measure?

Local Logic supplies individual access and character scores on a 0–5 scale for the recorded coordinates. Consider each measure separately; we do not calculate an overall livability rating.

Are the distances walking times?

No. Distances are straight-line measurements from the project reference. Open directions to check a walking, cycling, transit or driving route.

Does a nearby school guarantee admission?

No. Confirm attendance boundaries, programs, capacity and registration requirements with the relevant school board.

Do the demographic figures describe future residents?

No. They describe the existing population in the provider’s surrounding study area. They do not predict the buyers or future residents of this project.

SOURCES & METHODOLOGY

A guide with a clear point of reference.

Prepared by Team Arora. Scores, neighbourhood descriptions, school records, places and demographic information are supplied by Local Logic. Requests are cached for up to 24 hours; underlying source periods may be older. Provider neighbourhood labels may differ from builder descriptions. Missing data remains unavailable.

Recorded coordinates: 43.8823999, -78.92126. Amenity queries use a 2.5 km radius; school results retain the provider’s school-search coverage. Distances use the returned straight-line measurement, or are calculated directly between coordinates when absent. The project page includes the existing map; Google provides the linked directions. Verify current place details, boundaries and routes before making a decision.
