Shaganappi has a character that caters to a fairly diverse group of people. Shaganappi is very quiet, as the streets are generally very peaceful. However, green spaces, such as Karl Baker Off-Leash Park, are especially well-situated and there are around 50 of them close by for residents to relax in, which makes them very easy to access. Finally, even though this area is not known for its vibrancy, the vibe is still quite dynamic around its main streets, and with its a few bars, there are options for nighttime activities.

Getting around

This neighbourhood will draw property owners that use various modes of transportation. Shaganappi is a fairly convenient part of Calgary for pedestrians; many common errands can be run without the need to get in a vehicle, and there are also a good number of businesses nearby. This part of the city will also appeal to physically active people because it is reasonably suitable for cycling. More precisely, there are a fair number of bike lanes. Owing to 2 rapid transit stations (Westbrook Station and Shaganappi Point Station) with access to the Blue Line - Saddletowne/69 Street CTrain, and approximately 20 nearby bus lines, commuting by public transit is easy in this neighbourhood. Commuting by car is also convenient in this area. It is easy to park.

Everyday essentials

A general and a specialty grocery store is always only a reasonably short trip away in Shaganappi. Moreover, there are a fair number of opportunities in close proximity for those who value restaurants and cafes. With respect to education, primary schools and daycares are especially easy to get to by foot from most properties for sale in Shaganappi. On the other hand, parents may find it challenging for their schoolchildren to access high schools without needing a car.
