Getting around
No matter the means of transportation, it is simple to travel in York Ridge. A majority of the houses for sale in this neighbourhood are located in places that are suitable for pedestrians; carrying out daily needs is easy without a vehicle, and a fair number of businesses of different types can be found as well. On the other hand, moving around by bicycle is challenging in this neighbourhood as cyclists are faced with a considerable amount of elevation changes, and the cycling network is not particularly comprehensive. Nevertheless, a few bicycling-friendly areas exist. Owing to plenty of nearby rapid transit stations with access to the Line 1 (Yonge-University) and Line 4 (Sheppard), and around 20 nearby bus lines, this neighbourhood is a very pleasant part of Toronto for getting around by public transit. The car is usually the favoured transportation option in York Ridge. The street network is amenable to getting around by car, and the majority of real estate listings are a very short drive from the nearest highway, such as Highway 401.
