Transportation

Village East will appeal to house buyers who want to be in a walkable community since it is moderately geared to walking; running day-to-day errands is easy without the need to use a vehicle. Even though riding a bike is better in certain sectors than others, and there are few hills to confront cyclists, this neighbourhood is not especially suited for cycling since the bicycling infrastructure is not very well-developed. Travelling by public transit is at times difficult in Village East. Nevertheless, there are approximately 10 bus lines traversing the neighbourhood, and bus stops are not very far from most homes. However, this part of Pickering is very car friendly. Most houses for sale are a short drive from the closest highway, such as Highway 401, and parking is quite easy.

Services

Parents and their kids will find that no matter where their house is located in Village East, primary schools and daycares are close by. On the other hand, it can be very difficult to get to high schools as a pedestrian. Regarding food, a supermarket is generally reachable within a very short trip from any location in this part of the city. Likewise, this neighbourhood is a fairly good place in which to go out to eat or go to a cafe. Home buyers benefit from a good number of clothing stores within a short distance.

Village East is a good neighbourhood to buy a house in for those who prefer a calm ambience. Village East is fairly good for those who like quiet areas, as there are usually low levels of noise from traffic - although that is not the case closer to Highway 401. It is very difficult to reach parks in the neighbourhood since they aren't well-spread out. Despite that, there are approximately 20 public green spaces nearby for residents to unwind in.
