Transportation
Port Credit presents house buyers with the choice between a variety of means of transportation. With Port Credit on the Lakeshore West, and a few nearby bus lines, this area is moderately transit friendly. Home buyers who want to reside in a compact community will also enjoy the rather pedestrian-friendly character of Port Credit; many common errands can be run without a car, and plenty of businesses are close at hand. It is convenient to commute by bike in this part of the city because bicycling is facilitated by the generally flat terrain.
Services
A grocery store is ordinarily reachable within a very short distance from most houses for sale in Port Credit. Furthermore, this area is a fairly good place in which to eat out or go to a cafe. A decent selection of clothing stores can also be found within a reasonably short walking distance. When it comes to education, families will find that no matter where their house is located in Port Credit, daycares and schools are nearby.
Character
People who prefer a slower-paced atmosphere will enjoy Port Credit. This part of the city is reasonably quiet, as there tend to be low levels of noise from traffic - although there are still several louder sections, especially close to the railway line. Lastly, it is very easy to access public green spaces in the neighbourhood since there are around 40 of them nearby for residents to enjoy.
Housing
About half of dwellings are large apartment buildings, making it easy to find apartments in Port Credit, while the rest are mainly small apartment buildings and single detached homes. About 40% of properties in this neighbourhood were constructed between 1960 and 1980, while most of the remaining buildings were built pre-1960 and in the 2000s. This part of Mississauga is primarily composed of one bedroom and two bedroom homes. Around 60% of the population of this neighbourhood rent their home and the remainder are owners.
