A NEIGHBOURHOOD IN CONTEXT

Start with how
you spend your day.

There are a lot of green spaces to enjoy in O'Neill, despite its sometimes busy atmosphere. There are over 50 public green spaces nearby for residents to relax in, like Northway Court Park and Oshawa Valley Botanical Gardens, and they are very well-situated, resulting in them being very easy to access from the majority of locations within this part of the city. A large number of sections of this neighbourhood are very calm and quiet, but some other areas can be noisy, especially.

Getting around

O'Neill is reasonably conducive to those who like to get around by walking; many common errands can be run without needing a vehicle, and a variety of businesses are fairly close by. Cycling is also easy in this part of Oshawa as the cycling network is reasonably well-developed. The best approach to move around in this area is often driving. The majority of homes for sale are a rather short car ride from the closest highway, and it is easy to park. On the other hand, travelling by public transit is at times difficult in this neighbourhood. Nonetheless, property owners are served by around 10 bus lines, and bus stops are not very far from most homes.

Everyday essentials

The nearest supermarket in O'Neill is generally only a short distance away. In addition, this neighbourhood is a fairly good place in which to go out to eat or go to a cafe, for example along Simcoe Street. A good choice of clothing stores is also located within a reasonably short walking distance. When it comes to education, schools and daycares are straightforward to get to on foot from most properties for sale in O'Neill.

Surrounding homes

Single detached homes are the main housing type, representing around half of dwellings in O'Neill, while large apartment buildings and small apartment buildings are also present in the housing stock. This part of the city is primarily composed of two bedroom and three bedroom homes. Homeowners occupy about 55% of the dwellings in O'Neill and the rest are rented. This neighbourhood experienced its largest construction boom before the 1960s, so most of the available housing is from this era.

A FEW USEFUL ANSWERS

Before you
call it home.

What do the location scores measure?

Local Logic supplies individual access and character scores on a 0–5 scale for the recorded coordinates. Consider each measure separately; we do not calculate an overall livability rating.

Are the distances walking times?

No. Distances are straight-line measurements from the project reference. Open directions to check a walking, cycling, transit or driving route.

Does a nearby school guarantee admission?

No. Confirm attendance boundaries, programs, capacity and registration requirements with the relevant school board.

Do the demographic figures describe future residents?

No. They describe the existing population in the provider’s surrounding study area. They do not predict the buyers or future residents of this project.

SOURCES & METHODOLOGY

A guide with a clear point of reference.

Prepared by Team Arora. Scores, neighbourhood descriptions, school records, places and demographic information are supplied by Local Logic. Requests are cached for up to 24 hours; underlying source periods may be older. Provider neighbourhood labels may differ from builder descriptions. Missing data remains unavailable.

Recorded coordinates: 43.8995735, -78.8633157. Amenity queries use a 2.5 km radius; school results retain the provider’s school-search coverage. Distances use the returned straight-line measurement, or are calculated directly between coordinates when absent. The project page includes the existing map; Google provides the linked directions. Verify current place details, boundaries and routes before making a decision.
