A NEIGHBOURHOOD IN CONTEXT

Start with how
you spend your day.

Old Mill is a great area for home buyers who enjoy both indoor and outdoor activities. Although this part of Toronto is not known for its lively atmosphere, the vibe can still be quite dynamic around its busier streets, and with the bars in nearby neighbourhoods, it is very easy to find a place to grab a drink as they are generally located very close by. However, the greenery in this neighbourhood is very prominent as many tree-lined streets are present. There are around 20 public green spaces nearby for residents to unwind in, including Home Smith Park, and they are very well-spread out, making it very easy to reach them from a lot of locations within Old Mill.

Getting around

Old Mill affords home buyers several alternative modes of transportation. Owing to many nearby rapid transit stations with access to the Line 2 (Bloor - Danforth), and a few nearby bus lines, Old Mill is an extremely pleasant part of Toronto for travelling by public transit. This part of the city will also attract people who want to live in a compact community as it is rather accommodating to getting around on foot; many day-to-day needs can be met without a vehicle, and various businesses are reasonably close by. Old Mill is amenable to cycling.

Everyday essentials

In Old Mill, parents and their kids will almost always be able to reach schools and daycares as pedestrians. When it comes to eating, it is straightforward to get to both a general and a specialty grocery store by foot from anywhere in this part of the city. Furthermore, those who are fond of dining out won't have to go far in this neighbourhood, where around 30 restaurants and a few coffee shops are available. It is also a short walk to a very good selection of clothing stores.

Surrounding homes

In Old Mill, the majority of dwellings are single detached homes, while large apartment buildings and small apartment buildings make up most of the remaining housing stock. This neighbourhood also has a good choice of housing sizes; properties range from lofts to four or more bedrooms. Roughly two thirds of the population of this neighbourhood own their home and renters make up the remainder. Most housing in this area was built pre-1960, during its most significant building boom.

A FEW USEFUL ANSWERS

Before you
call it home.

What do the location scores measure?

Local Logic supplies individual access and character scores on a 0–5 scale for the recorded coordinates. Consider each measure separately; we do not calculate an overall livability rating.

Are the distances walking times?

No. Distances are straight-line measurements from the project reference. Open directions to check a walking, cycling, transit or driving route.

Does a nearby school guarantee admission?

No. Confirm attendance boundaries, programs, capacity and registration requirements with the relevant school board.

Do the demographic figures describe future residents?

No. They describe the existing population in the provider’s surrounding study area. They do not predict the buyers or future residents of this project.

SOURCES & METHODOLOGY

A guide with a clear point of reference.

Prepared by Team Arora. Scores, neighbourhood descriptions, school records, places and demographic information are supplied by Local Logic. Requests are cached for up to 24 hours; underlying source periods may be older. Provider neighbourhood labels may differ from builder descriptions. Missing data remains unavailable.

Recorded coordinates: 43.6487956, -79.4855082. Amenity queries use a 2.5 km radius; school results retain the provider’s school-search coverage. Distances use the returned straight-line measurement, or are calculated directly between coordinates when absent. The project page includes the existing map; Google provides the linked directions. Verify current place details, boundaries and routes before making a decision.
