A NEIGHBOURHOOD IN CONTEXT

Start with how
you spend your day.

Ryerson is a great part of the city for home buyers who enjoy both indoor and outdoor activities. Finding bustling streets in this neighbourhood is especially easy. There is a very good selection of entertainment venues, there are often a very large number of people around, and places to go out at night are well-spread throughout the neighbourhood. Yonge Street is among the most energetic streets in this area. Greenery is not very present in this part of the city; however, there are over 50 public green spaces nearby for residents to discover, such as Allan Gardens, and they are especially well-distributed, which results in them being very easy to get to from the majority of locations in the neighbourhood.

Getting around

This part of the city does not demand use of a car because various other means of transportation are available. Traveling by foot is very feasible for property owners in Ryerson; most daily errands can be run without a vehicle, and plenty of businesses are particularly close by. Riding a bike is fairly prevalent in Ryerson since bike-share stations are rarely more than a few blocks away, and the cycling network is reasonably comprehensive. Ryerson is an extraordinarily convenient part of Toronto for travelling by public transit as a consequence of a multitude of nearby rapid transit stations on the Line 1 (Yonge-University), and about 10 nearby bus lines. In contrast, cars are a somewhat poor transportation option in Ryerson. That being said, the majority of houses for sale are a reasonably short car ride from the closest highway.

Everyday essentials

In Ryerson, parents and their kids will almost always be able to access daycares and schools by walking. When it comes to food, a general and a specialty grocery store is always only a very short trip away in this area. There are over 50 supermarkets in this neighbourhood, and the best selection can be found on streets like Dundas Street. Moreover, those who appreciate dining out won't have to walk far in Ryerson, where over 350 restaurants and over 50 coffee shops are available, for instance along Yonge Street. It is also a very short trip to an excellent variety of clothing stores.

Surrounding homes

In Ryerson, almost all buildings are large apartment buildings, and the rest are mainly small apartment buildings. Most of the housing growth in this part of Toronto occurred before the 1960s. Notably, this neighbourhood is good for those looking for one bedroom homes. The proportions of homeowners and renters are about even.

A FEW USEFUL ANSWERS

Before you
call it home.

What do the location scores measure?

Local Logic supplies individual access and character scores on a 0–5 scale for the recorded coordinates. Consider each measure separately; we do not calculate an overall livability rating.

Are the distances walking times?

No. Distances are straight-line measurements from the project reference. Open directions to check a walking, cycling, transit or driving route.

Does a nearby school guarantee admission?

No. Confirm attendance boundaries, programs, capacity and registration requirements with the relevant school board.

Do the demographic figures describe future residents?

No. They describe the existing population in the provider’s surrounding study area. They do not predict the buyers or future residents of this project.

SOURCES & METHODOLOGY

A guide with a clear point of reference.

Compare neighbourhood context across Toronto ↗ · Explore Toronto new-home projects ↗

Prepared by Team Arora. Scores, neighbourhood descriptions, school records, places and demographic information are supplied by Local Logic. Requests are cached for up to 24 hours; underlying source periods may be older. Provider neighbourhood labels may differ from builder descriptions. Missing data remains unavailable.

Recorded coordinates: 43.65684, -79.377002. Amenity queries use a 2.5 km radius; school results retain the provider’s school-search coverage. Distances use the returned straight-line measurement, or are calculated directly between coordinates when absent. The project page includes the existing map; Google provides the linked directions. Verify current place details, boundaries and routes before making a decision.
