A NEIGHBOURHOOD IN CONTEXT

Start with how
you spend your day.

No matter what type of character home buyers prefer in a neighbourhood, Renfrew is a fairly good option. Renfrew is quiet, as the streets are usually reasonably calm, however some parts can be quite loud, especially closer to one of the railway lines or Trans-Canada Highway. On the other hand, parks, like John Hendry Park and Renfrew Ravine Park, are very well-distributed and there are over 50 of them close by for residents to discover, which results in them being very easy to get to from the majority of locations in the neighbourhood. Finally, even though this part of the city is not known for its lively ambience, the vibe is still quite energetic around its busier streets, and with the bars in nearby neighbourhoods, it is rather challenging to find a place to grab a drink as they are generally located relatively far away.

Getting around

Renfrew allows house buyers to get around using several modes of transportation. It is easy for pedestrians to navigate this part of the city; many common errands can be run without the use of a vehicle, and numerous businesses are close at hand. This neighbourhood is also a fairly convenient part of Vancouver for cyclists. In particular, the cycling network is good. With a multitude of nearby rapid transit stations on the Millennium Line and Expo Line, and about 10 nearby bus lines, the very good public transit network makes transit a viable option for many. This part of Vancouver is also fairly car friendly. Nearby highways, such as Trans-Canada Highway, are reasonably easy to access from anywhere in Renfrew.

Everyday essentials

Property owners in this area will be pleased to learn that a general and a specialty grocery store is always only a very short stroll away. Moreover, owing to 50-odd restaurants and cafes in Renfrew, there is typically a place to get some food or drink just around the corner, for instance on Boundary Road. With regards to education, parents and their children will appreciate the proximity to daycares and schools, which are within a short distance from most, if not all, homes for sale in this neighbourhood.

Surrounding homes

Duplexes are the main housing type, representing roughly half of dwellings in Renfrew, but small apartment buildings and single detached homes are also present in the housing stock. This area has a good selection of unit sizes, ranging from lofts to four or more bedrooms. Roughly 55% of the population of this neighbourhood own their home and the rest are renters. Around one quarter of homes in this neighbourhood were built after the year 2000, while most of the remaining buildings were constructed pre-1960 and in the 1960s.

A FEW USEFUL ANSWERS

Before you
call it home.

What do the location scores measure?

Local Logic supplies individual access and character scores on a 0–5 scale for the recorded coordinates. Consider each measure separately; we do not calculate an overall livability rating.

Are the distances walking times?

No. Distances are straight-line measurements from the project reference. Open directions to check a walking, cycling, transit or driving route.

Does a nearby school guarantee admission?

No. Confirm attendance boundaries, programs, capacity and registration requirements with the relevant school board.

Do the demographic figures describe future residents?

No. They describe the existing population in the provider’s surrounding study area. They do not predict the buyers or future residents of this project.

Prepared by Team Arora. Scores, neighbourhood descriptions, school records, places and demographic information are supplied by Local Logic. Requests are cached for up to 24 hours; underlying source periods may be older. Provider neighbourhood labels may differ from builder descriptions. Missing data remains unavailable.

Recorded coordinates: 49.2584515, -123.0462335. Amenity queries use a 2.5 km radius; school results retain the provider’s school-search coverage. Distances use the returned straight-line measurement, or are calculated directly between coordinates when absent. The project page includes the existing map; Google provides the linked directions.
