A NEIGHBOURHOOD IN CONTEXT

Start with how
you spend your day.

Those who enjoy a vibrant atmosphere and spending time outdoors will feel at home in Yorkville. Finding things to do in this neighbourhood is especially easy. There are very often a very large number of people around, there is a wide selection of entertainment venues, and finding one of the a few bars is very easy since they are generally located very close by. Yorkville Avenue is among the most lively streets in this part of the city. There is not that much greenery in this area; more specifically, residents will find that few tree-lined streets are prominent. Nonetheless, reaching parks in the neighbourhood, like Ramsden Park, is very easy since there are approximately 10 of them close by for residents to visit.

Getting around

Yorkville is a great neighbourhood with respect to getting around without a car. Travelling on foot is very convenient for property owners in this area; all common errands can be run without the use of a car, and many businesses are especially nearby. This neighbourhood will also appeal to active people as it is very suited for cycling. In particular, there is generally a bike-share station close by, Yorkville boasts a good cycling infrastructure, and there are a limited number of hills. This part of the city is very transit friendly as a consequence of a multitude of nearby rapid transit stations on the Line 1 (Yonge-University) and Line 2 (Bloor - Danforth), and a few nearby bus lines. In contrast, cars are a rather limited mode of transportation in Yorkville. Nevertheless, most real estate listings are a rather short car ride from the closest highway.

Everyday essentials

In this part of the city, families will almost always be able to get to daycares and schools on foot. At the elementary level, there are both public and private schools. As far as food is concerned, a general and a specialty grocery store is always only a very short walk away in Yorkville. Likewise, with 100-odd restaurants and cafes in this part of the city, there is almost always a spot to get a meal or beverage just around the corner.

Local character

Surrounding homes

The predominance of large apartment buildings in the housing stock of Yorkville is an important part of its character. This neighbourhood offers mainly two bedroom and one bedroom homes. There are equal parts renters and owners living in this area. Roughly 45% of properties in this neighbourhood were built after the year 2000, while the majority of the remaining buildings were constructed pre-1960 and in the 1960s.

A FEW USEFUL ANSWERS

Before you
call it home.

What do the location scores measure?

Local Logic supplies individual access and character scores on a 0–5 scale for the recorded coordinates. Consider each measure separately; we do not calculate an overall livability rating.

Are the distances walking times?

No. Distances are straight-line measurements from the project reference. Open directions to check a walking, cycling, transit or driving route.

Does a nearby school guarantee admission?

No. Confirm attendance boundaries, programs, capacity and registration requirements with the relevant school board.

Do the demographic figures describe future residents?

No. They describe the existing population in the provider’s surrounding study area. They do not predict the buyers or future residents of this project.

SOURCES & METHODOLOGY

A guide with a clear point of reference.

Prepared by Team Arora. Scores, neighbourhood descriptions, school records, places and demographic information are supplied by Local Logic. Requests are cached for up to 24 hours; underlying source periods may be older. Provider neighbourhood labels may differ from builder descriptions. Missing data remains unavailable.

Recorded coordinates: 43.6715026, -79.3889377. Amenity queries use a 2.5 km radius; school results retain the provider’s school-search coverage. Distances use the returned straight-line measurement, or are calculated directly between coordinates when absent. The project page includes the existing map; Google provides the linked directions. Verify current place details, boundaries and routes before making a decision.
