A SENSE OF PLACE

The neighbourhood, in perspective.

Getting around

Regardless of the means of transportation, it is simple to travel in Leaside. Owing to about 10 nearby bus lines, commuting by public transit is easy in this area. Walking is also rather practical for property owners in Leaside; carrying out daily needs is convenient without a vehicle, and plenty of businesses are fairly close at hand. Biking is easy in Leaside.

Everyday essentials

Property owners in Leaside will appreciate that a grocery store is always only a short trip away. Bayview Avenue is among the best streets for groceries. Furthermore, those who appreciate eating out won't have to travel far in Leaside, where over 50 restaurants and about 10 coffee shops can be found. It is also very easy to reach a variety of clothing stores without a vehicle. When it comes to education, families will find that wherever their home is located in Leaside, daycares and schools are close by.

Local character

No matter what type of character home buyers prefer in a neighbourhood, Leaside is a reasonably good option. Even though the atmosphere is not the most lively in this area, its busier streets can still be quite energetic, and with the bars in nearby neighbourhoods, it is very easy to find a place to grab a drink because they are generally located very close by. Leaside is very quiet overall, as there tend to be low levels of noise from traffic. There is much greenery in this neighbourhood; public green spaces, including Sunnybrook Park and E. T. Seton Park, are very well-situated and there are over 50 of them nearby for residents to explore, which results in them being very easy to access from many locations within the neighbourhood. Residents will also find that the tree canopy coverage for the majority of streets is very good.

Surrounding homes

About 45% of dwellings are single detached homes, making it easy to find detached homes in Leaside, while large apartment buildings, small apartment buildings, and townhouses are also present in the housing stock. This neighbourhood experienced its most significant building boom before the 1960s, so most of the available properties are from this era. This area has a good variety of unit sizes, ranging from lofts to four or more bedrooms. Around 70% of the population of this neighbourhood own their home whereas the rest are renters.
