DiamondCorp is a prominent real estate developer in the Greater Toronto Area, known for its commitment to quality and progressive city building. As part of the Whitecastle group of companies, DiamondCorp is led by Stephen Diamond, son of Whitecastle’s founder, Eph Diamond. The company’s philosophy, “Building on Legacy,” reflects its dedication to creating long-term value through thoughtful development and community collaboration. With a focus on rezoning lands for appropriate densities and fostering positive relationships with city officials and residents, DiamondCorp has established itself as a visionary developer in Toronto’s evolving real estate landscape.
About the Developer
DiamondCorp’s roots trace back to Eph Diamond, a decorated engineer, military officer, and co-founder of the Whitecastle Group. Eph’s illustrious career earned him numerous accolades, including the Order of Canada in 1990. His son, Stephen Diamond, a lawyer by trade, founded DiamondCorp to negotiate development projects independently, ensuring alignment with community needs. Stephen’s leadership has resulted in an exemplary record of achieving consensus with municipalities, avoiding the need for Ontario Municipal Board intervention. This approach has led to successful projects that enhance both communities and investor returns.
The company’s current flagship project, The Well, is a mixed-use development in downtown Toronto spanning nearly eight acres. Demonstrating adaptability, DiamondCorp revised the site’s architectural design in response to neighbourhood feedback, ensuring it reflects the character of the King and Spadina area. Upon completion, The Well will feature office, retail, and residential spaces, along with a public square for community events.
