Transportation

The car is very often the preferred method to move around in Westlane. It is very convenient to park, and nearby highways, such as Highway 420, are reasonably easy to access from any home in Westlane. On the other hand, Westlane is not very transit friendly. Nevertheless, there are about 30 bus lines passing through the neighbourhood, and most properties are very close to a bus stop. It is at times challenging to get around by bike in Westlane since the cycling infrastructure is rather limited. Nonetheless, cyclists do not encounter serious elevation changes, and some enjoyable sectors for bicycling exist. Most houses for sale in this neighbourhood are located in areas that are also not especially conducive to people who travel as pedestrians as most daily needs are sometimes difficult to carry out without a car.

A grocery store is generally accessible within a rather short distance from any home in Westlane. Additionally, there is commonly a restaurant or cafe just around the corner, for instance along McLeod Road. When it comes to education, schools and daycares are easy to reach without the use of a car from anywhere in Westlane.
